Sheila Blanton, M.Ed. is the Director of the Georgia State University School of Social Work Professional Excellence Program. She has 38 years of experience in the child welfare field including teaching, case management, adoptions, instructional design and program management. She manages a staff of 16 and oversees 3 programs under the PE Program: Continuing Education, the Child Welfare Training Collaborative and the Training for Adoption Competency (TAC) Program. She has written curriculum on an extensive list of topics including Managing Change, Implementation Science, Adoption 101, Building Resiliency in Children Who Experienced Trauma, Developing Collaborations and many others. Ms Blanton presents on a variety of topics at State and National Conferences to include the Southern Governor’s Conference, National Staff Development and Training Conference, GA System of Care and EMBARK. Ms Blanton received the Distinguished Service in Training Award from the National Staff Development and Training Association (NSDTA) in 2015. She has been a member of the NSDTA Council since 2016 and is Chair of the Conference Committee and a member of the Marketing Committee.
